We brought the New Year in with authentic RedNeck fashion. Because I have two knees that look like cantaloupes after falling on the ice, I spent the evening either on the couch with both legs elevated and iced, or scooting around in my RedNeck wheelchair (an old office chair) The neighbor came over with his 3 mo. old daughter, who I loved on most of the night. (His wife had to work at 6 this morning, so she was at home in bed.) The girls INSISTED on staying up until midnight, and almost didn't make it, but at straight-up 12:00, they went out and blew their noisemakers, pulled the strings on their confetti poppers, and threw handfuls of those little firecrackers that pop on the cement. It was snowing, but not cold...very pretty and peaceful. So, HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you. Best wishes from our family to yours. I hope 2009 hold everything you hoped for, and so much more. My "resolution" is to live by a statement I really like....
